Alma Soprano Titanium

The gold standard in laser hair removal with virtually painless treatment.

Alma Soprano Titanium

What Is Alma Soprano Titanium?

Alma is the world’s largest manufacturer of laser technologies. The company is known for its innovation and safety standards. Over the past ten years, Alma has developed and patented three technologies in the field of laser hair removal that clearly distinguish it from other brands that unsuccessfully attempt to copy them.

On this occasion, we will explain the laser hair removal process, highlight the advantages of ALMA LASER HAIR REMOVAL, and help you recognize the original device among the many offers on the market that attempt to imitate the best technology.

Laser Hair Removal – How Does It Work?

Laser hair removal is not a new treatment.

It is a medical procedure that has been used since the year 2000.

Before laser hair removal, electrolysis and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) were the most popular methods. The goal was to reduce painful hair-removal procedures, ingrown hairs, and other inconveniences by removing unwanted hair. However, many patients hesitated to choose these methods because they were painful, highly dependent on the practitioner’s skill in determining the correct energy level, and treatments could only be performed during winter months. During summer, patients still had to rely on traditional hair removal. Over time, both patients and doctors realized that these methods did not permanently remove hair, as hair would regrow after several years.

Today, it is well established that laser hair removal is the only method that provides permanent hair reduction.

How Laser Hair Removal Works

The foundation of this method is a laser beam with a specific wavelength, which determines the depth of penetration and the part of the hair follicle affected. It is important to note that most lasers on the market operate with only one wavelength, meaning they target only one part of the hair.

Alma Soprano Titanium, however, uses three wavelengths in a single applicator, allowing it to target all three parts of the hair follicle:

  • the hair shaft

  • the hair root

  • the hair stem cells

The wavelength also determines whether the laser can treat light or dark hair. Thanks to its three wavelengths, Alma Soprano Titanium can safely and effectively treat all hair types—dark, light, thin, and coarse.

When the laser comes into contact with the skin, the energy is absorbed by melanin, the pigment located in the hair follicle. This laser energy is converted into heat, which destroys the hair at its root.

The amount of pigment in the hair directly affects how much heat is generated. Darker hairs absorb more energy, making treatment more effective. For this reason, the best results are typically achieved in people with lighter skin and darker hair. However, since most individuals have different hair types on different body areas, even fine and light hairs can be treated effectively using the appropriate wavelength.

Alma Soprano Titanium – Triple Wavelength Technology

Alma Soprano Titanium combines three wavelengths in one applicator, working simultaneously—essentially performing hair removal as if using three different lasers at once. Many clinics use diode lasers with only one wavelength, while Alma uses the Quattro 4 applicator, combining three laser beams into a single pulse.

This patented technology allows the laser to penetrate three different depths of the skin and target:

  • the hair shaft

  • the hair root

  • the hair stem cells

The Three Wavelengths Explained

755 nm (Alexandrite type)

  • Increased energy absorption in thin and light hair

  • High epidermal absorption targeting hair stem cells

  • Ideal for eyebrows and upper lip

808 nm (Diode type)

  • Suitable for darker, thicker hair and medium to darker skin types

  • Deep penetration, high power, and high pulse frequency

  • Acts on the hair root and stem cells

  • Commonly used on legs, arms, cheeks, and beard

1064 nm (Nd:YAG type)

  • Ideal for very dark skin and hair, as well as tanned skin

  • Lowest melanin absorption but deepest penetration

  • Reaches the follicular fibroblast where stem cells are located

  • Especially effective for the scalp and intimate areas

The laser energy is precisely adjusted by the physician to reach approximately 50°C, a temperature sufficient to destroy all parts of the hair follicle and its stem cells.

Safety and Advanced Cooling System

Most adverse effects related to laser hair removal result from:

  • Untrained personnel who cannot correctly adjust energy levels based on skin and hair type, leading to burns and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation

  • Low-quality lasers with uncontrolled energy output, often manufactured without strict medical standards and used without proper training or regular servicing

Alma Soprano Titanium features an advanced cooling system built into the applicator, cooling the epidermis to -0.3°C while simultaneously heating the dermis to the therapeutic temperature.

Additionally, Alma introduced Super Hair Removal™ technology, which allows treatment over a large surface area of up to 900 cm² with gradual heating. Unlike competitors that deliver all energy in a single pulse over a small area—causing pain—this technology ensures a more comfortable, virtually painless experience.

Why Are Multiple Treatments Necessary?

Melanin absorbs the laser’s energy most effectively when the hair is in its active growth phase (anagen phase). At any given time, only 70–90% of hairs are in this phase. The remaining hairs are in a resting phase and cannot be effectively treated.

For this reason, treatments must be repeated:

  • Face: every 4 weeks

  • Body: every 6–8 weeks

This ensures that all hairs are treated when they enter the active growth phase.

How Many Treatments Are Needed? Are the Results Permanent?

The number of treatments varies depending on individual factors such as hair density, color, skin type, and hormonal status. On average, 6–8 treatments are required for optimal results.

Maintenance treatments are recommended once per year to maintain long-term results. Complete removal of 100% of hair is not possible; however, approximately 90% permanent reduction is achievable. Remaining hairs are usually thin and barely noticeable.

Treatment Preparation Guidelines

  • Stop waxing, epilators, and tweezing at least 4 weeks before treatment

  • Shaving is allowed

  • Shave the area 24 hours before treatment

  • Avoid retinol, vitamin A derivatives, and irritating skincare products

  • Inform your doctor about any medications (some cause photosensitivity)

  • Avoid sun exposure 2 weeks before and after treatment

  • Use SPF 30+ sunscreen

Temporary redness or swelling may occur and usually resolves within 48 hours.

Is Laser Hair Removal Safe?

Yes. Laser hair removal is completely safe when performed by trained medical professionals. The laser penetrates only to the hair follicle and does not affect deeper tissues. Thanks to the triple cooling system, the treatment is virtually painless and protects the skin from overheating.

Laser hair removal is not recommended for:

  • Pregnant women

  • Patients with epilepsy

  • Vitiligo, lupus, or other autoimmune diseases
